Emmaus is a Moody 38 built in 1994 and customised to suit our operation. There are 6 single berths for the crew plus berths for skipper and mate. It complies with all regulations for small commercial sailing vessels. The equipment includes radar, chart plotter and full electronic instrumentation, diesel generator, central heating and even a Microwave Cooker.

| How far can one get in a week? |
Starting and finishing at Onich, the best use is made of the prevailing weather conditions. One can sail south to the islands of Gigha, Islay and Jura, or west to Mull, Iona, Staffa, the Treshnish Isles and Coll, or north to the Small Isles and Skye. In favourable conditions, one can cross to the Outer Isles to visit some of the islands - Mingulay, Barra, Eriskay and the Uists. |
| What is included in the fee? |
Virtually everything all food, snacks, mooring charges and fuel costs. Meals include cooked breakfast, snack lunch, frequent snacks and hot drinks, and a 3-course dinner at the end of the days sailing. The only optional extras are £20 for the hire of Henri Lloyd lined oilskins, and travel insurance at £7.00 for the week. |
| Can a novice book up? |
No previous experience is necessary. Crew participate in all aspects of sailing the yacht. The skipper is happy to spend time explaining navigation and the use of GPS and all the instruments to those who wish to learn. |
| What about the Blue Water Cruises? |
These cruises in June are designed for those with previous experience wanting to cover longer distances in more open waters with the possibility of some night sailing. In previous years, visits have been made to St. Kilda, Lewis and Harris and round Cape Wrath to the Orkneys. |
